Jennifer was the heart of our mission in action. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering dedication set the standard for what it means to serve others with compassion and grace. This award is given annually to UCBC Cares volunteers who embody Jennifer’s spirit—a quiet hero who makes a lasting difference in the lives of our patients and their families. We are forever grateful to the Allen family for allowing us to honor Jennifer in this way. Her legacy lives on through UCBC Cares and the community she helped build.

Tails of Hope and Oncology Massage
The UCBC Cares Volunteer Program partners with the Alliance of Therapy Dogs to offer the “Tails of Hope” program, providing weekly visits from trained therapy dogs to bring comfort and joy to both patients and staff. In addition, our skilled oncology massage therapists volunteer their time each month to support patients receiving chemotherapy treatments. These programs are a powerful reflection of our mission, combining support and volunteerism to enhance the overall experience for our patients, caregivers, and staff.
