This past holiday season, our Holiday Gift Card Drive raised over $4,611, impacting 53 patients and their families, ensuring they had access to essential items like gas and groceries during a challenging time.

The Lights of Remembrance event provides a meaningful space for UCBC staff to reflect, grieve, and find hope. This “Come and Go” gathering allows us, along with the UCBC staff, to honor the memories of loved ones, find comfort in shared experiences, and support one another through the season.

Advanced Cancer Support Group

Our Advanced Cancer (Stage IV) Support Group offers a safe, compassionate space for individuals living with advanced cancer to connect with others who truly understand their experience. This group provides mutual support, shared understanding, and the opportunity to talk openly about the unique emotional, physical, and practical challenges that come with a Stage IV diagnosis.

The group is led by a UCBC Social Worker, ensuring a supportive, respectful environment guided by a trained professional. Participants benefit from peer connection while also having access to clinical insight and emotional support.

Breast Cancer Support Group

Our Breast Cancer Support Group provides a caring and empowering space for individuals affected by breast cancer to connect, share experiences, and find encouragement from others who understand the journey. The group offers the opportunity to gain insight and inspiration through guest speakers, as well as meaningful connection and support from fellow survivors.

The group is led by a UCBC Social Worker, creating a safe, respectful environment focused on emotional well-being, education, and mutual support.

Meetings are held every third Thursday at 5:30 PM in the Breast Health Center. We welcome survivors at all stages to join us in a supportive community centered on healing, strength, and hope.

Mind Over Matter

Participate in an engaging five-week program led by a Licensed Clinical Social worker, aimed at providing you with techniques to tackle to fears, worries, and sadness that often follow a cancer diagnosis. Each week, you’ll uncover new tools, so be sure to attend all 5 sessions.

  • Location: UCBC Comprehensive Cancer Center (Athens, Building 800)
  • Pre-registration is required
